The last ten or more years he has been a Professor of law at the Universidad Iberoamercana's Law School. His teaching areas are focused around International Law, Human Rights and Critical Theory. For the most port, his approach to law is interdisciplinary and he tries to combine legal discussions with an emphasis on Political Theory, Social Anthropology and Sociology. Also, he extends his teaching outside the Law School in programs such as Political Science and Communications. As to his research interests, they are centered on the implications of race, ethnicity, class and gender on the postcolonial legal system, especially in Latin America but also in the Global South in general. His interests also include the tensions between appropriation and disengagement of Human Rights discourse by social movements, either through formal or representative orders.
