Support to Curation and Independent
Exhibition Projects 2008
The Patronato de Arte Contemporáneo (PAC) is an initiative independent of state institutions whose goal is to support the creation and propagation of contemporary art in Mexico.
Among the programs that PAC offers for the support of contemporary artistic production is the CALL for Curation and Independent Exhibition Projects intended for those projects by artists, curators, and promoters for acts, interventions, exhibitions, and artistic events which take place in independent or government spaces.
One or more projects submitted in response to the call may be selected.
Requirements
- Presentation of a single project per applicant, related to the contemporary art of Mexico.
- Description of the project. The presentation of a ten line abstract, objectives, relevance and public repercussions of the project, along with a project timeline; all of this must be adequately documented.
- General and detailed budget for the project. Categories of spending and stages of execution.
- Itemized budget for the amount being requested.
- Description of other financial support. Names of the other contributors, with indication of whether it is a state or private institution.
- Curriculum Vitae of the applicant or description of the institution and its yearly program, with documentation.
- Description of benefits to PAC.
- Strategies for communication and public awareness. Social impact.
- Letter from the institution or director of the space assuring presentation of the project and accepting the conditions stipulated in this call.
- PAC will only support projects which are jointly funded.
- Projects in galleries with business interests will not be supported.
- Support to yearly programs in independent spaces is possible.
- Support for the creation of works will be granted as loans.
Evaluation and Decision:
- Projects should be submitted on paper (in triplicate) as well as in electronic format.
- The deadline for receipt of applications is Monday 30 May 2008.
- Projects received after the deadline stipulated for this call will not be accepted.
- Beginning on 7 July 2008, applicants will receive a letter from PAC indicating whether their project has been accepted.
- If the project is not selected, we request that the applicant retrieve his/her folder during the 15 days following the decision. We are not responsible for materials left after this period.
- Decisions by PAC are not subject to appeal.
Recipient's Obligations:
- Recipients must sign an agreement in which the responsibilities of both parts (PAC and the recipient) are stipulated.
- Recipients must keep PAC updated on the evolution and results of the project.
- Recipients must submit a final report on expenditures and assessment of the project.
- Use of the PAC logo or any reference to PAC must be overseen and authorized by said institution; improper use or manipulation is strictly prohibited.
- In the case of noncompliance with responsibilities by the recipient, PAC reserves the right to proceed as it sees fit.
